Simoné Henckert
Product Design
Simoné grew up on a banana farm in the lush Lowveld region of South Africa, just outside the iconic Kruger National Park. Surrounded by the rhythms of the bush and the colors of rural life, her love for Africa’s wild places was deeply rooted from an early age. Coming from a highly creative family, Simoné has a natural flair for design and aesthetics. Her deep understanding of interior design, paired with her extensive experience in some of Africa’s most beautiful safari lodges has led her to a unique niche — curating and designing distinctive pieces for safari lodge galleries. She is especially passionate about African textiles and artifacts, bringing authenticity, elegance, and storytelling to each space she touches. Today Simoné lives in the charming village of Stanford, South Africa with her husband Marcelino and their three children where her love for Africa design continues to inspire her life and work, including assisting the BJ Adventures team with product design, special tours and personal shopping experiences in South Africa.
