Philomena is a creative at her core, both in the visual and performing arts. You’ll find her beautiful, Africa-inspired botanical and animal illustrations on our amenity bags, scarves, wrapping paper, and notebooks. Now attending the Savannah College of Art and Design, she previously interned at Imvelo Safari Lodges around Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, and this summer will complete internships with Omba Arts in Namibia and Fijn Botanicals in South Africa, the manufacturers of our wonderful botanical products. While she’s already a world traveler, her middle name Nxai (San for “a place without trees”) highlights a special connection to Southern Africa: a place that not only inspires and informs her artistic practice, but also serves as her second home.
